Unifor Skilled Trades Council Executive Changes

At the Montreal UNIFOR National Skilled Trades Council held from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2, the Executive held balance of term elections for a couple of vacancies due to retirements and one new position, Member-at-Large, for the Executive. The term of the entire Executive will end in November 2020.

Our Vice-Chairperson, Brother Nelson Gagne and our Financial Secretary Brother Joe Elworthy have both recently retired, and the Executive would like to thank them for their years of service and dedication to UNIFOR Skilled Trades.

Both of their positions were available and two of the Trustees, Brothers Ken Anderson and Paul Renaud decided to put their names forward for these openings which created openings for two Trustees. Our Sergeant-at-Arms, Brother Ashok Venkatarangam, put his name for one of the Trustee positions. Brother Joel Kennedy ran for the last Trustee position, Sister Leanne Marsh for the Sergeant-at-Arms, and Brother Kevin Shipley for Member-at-Large. All the new Executives were acclaimed for their positions.

The UNIFOR Skilled Trades Council Executive would like to welcome our new Executive members and we look forward to working with them.
